I was parked in a parking lot backing out of a space. I was too close to the right curb so I put the car in drive to go forward to straighten out the tires. The gas accelerated abruptly and would not stop when I pressed the brake. The car jumped the curb/sidewalk and plowed into the parked car in front of me. The gas continued to accelerate pushing the vehicle in front of me about 5 feet back. The car did not stop until I jammed it into park. My bumper was ripped off when backing up was caught in the grill of the vehicle it collided with. I had both feet on the brake pad trying to stop the car and it would not stop. A very frightening experience. I have read several posts on this acceleration problem and believe there should be a recall. Not a good experience to remember Chrysler by.

After starting the vehicle and going from reverse to drive the vehicle stalls out. After the initial stall and traveling a few miles, while stopping at a traffic signal the vehicle stalls out again and more times than not can accelerate at a speed higher than prompted. This is a frequent occurrence and other owners of the same make model and year that I have spoken with have the same issue.

Engine failure, speed control doesn’t work, car keeps cutting off, does not pick up speed, jerks really bad, shifts gears by it self at times, air bags are recalled, the car has been at the Chrysler dealership for over 6 months they keep saying different things are wrong with it not sure completely what the issues are just know a few. I was told the car is still jerking and cutting off which was the problem when I brought the car in they are charging me almost $800 for work done and was promised the car would be fixed but the car still has the same exact issues from the moment I brought it in. And being told it is still not drivable after being worked in by Chrysler mechanics for over 6 months.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. While driving, the vehicle lost power. The accelerator pedal was depressed to the floorboard, but there was no acceleration. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The contact was referred to auffenberg Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (176 auto CT, o’fallon, IL 62269, (618) 622-4546) where it was diagnosed that the battery was malfunctioning and the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The dealer further stated that there was possible electrical failure due to an improper jump start. The contact believed the dealer caused the electrical failure. The contact stated that the throttle body failure recurred even though the dealer did not think a failure existed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they want to charge the contact for the repair. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 110,000.

Jel jsem a auto najednou začalo vydávat hlasitý kvílivý zvuk a zdálo se, že samo podřazuje a kývá. Neřadil se správně a zdálo se, že to dělá sám. Neměl jsem kontrolu nad tím, co to dělá. On approximately 7/14/15, upon accelerating from a stopped position, my Chrysler 200 hesitated on take off. I had to take my foot off the gas pedal and slowly try accelerating again, still with hesitation, but finally taking off. There was slight hesitation as my vehicle was accelerating, then the fuel seemed to catch up. This has occurred several times randomly since 7/14/15. I took my car to the dealership on 7/23/15 as it is still under manufacturers warranty, explained the situation, and they said they found no problems, that «no codes» showed up on the computer. This problem appears to effect the engine, fuel/propulsion system and speed control. I was very concerned each time this happened of being involved in a car accident. I will continue to be concerned until this problems is resolved. I intend to take it back to the dealership for further investigation into this problem.

With my foot still on the brake pedal, I checked the mileage on our new car and it read 139 miles. I could feel the transmission engage then I felt what seemed to be a second engagement before I took my foot off the brake. As soon as I began driving I noticed the vehicle was not shifting out of first (1st) gear. I stopped the car and shifted through park, neutral and manual in an attempt to free up the transmission but when I started driving again it still would not transition out of first (1st) gear even when put in the manual shift mode. I drove it directly to the dealer without turning off the vehicle, and after a test drive they confirmed that it was not shifting but stated they could not find a code indicating any problem. They restarted the vehicle and it began to function normally again. The dealer said there was nothing they could do, and to bring it back if it happened again.

I left work and pulled of the parking lot. I could not get above 40 mph. I felt like I was stuck in 1st gear. Went straight to the dealership. Explained my problem. Made an appointment. When I went to leave, the car was fine. I called them and they said I might need an update for the hard drive. I went and had that done. It was fine for 3 weeks. And then the same thing happened. I put the car in park. Then turned the car off. Then started the car and then it was fine.
