Everything electric doesn’t work on my renault megane. It doesn’t start, any won’t appear on dashboard doesn’t work. I don’t know what’s the problem and how to solve it?

Starting Problem!
Renault Megane 2008 II Hatchback 1.4L 135000 miles
I insert the card, the dash lights up, set it in neutral, press the brake pedal & start button, and the engine does not star (does not even turn over to try and start). A message indicating the steering was not locked, there is a click heard and the engine fan comes on, then a beep and Low Battery is showing on the dash also showing set to Neutral. Have taking it to my local garage, but after various tests, and 3 weeks later, unable to find the problem. Please help, as if I cannot solve the problem, I will have to scrap it. Many Thanks

I also have the exact same problem as above but my vehicle is in park it does not crank over and it can’t come out of park it says on the dash steering wheel is locked when I take the key card out ND re insert it sometimes it says steering unlocked but still does not crank over

Hi All my 2005 2.0 16v did the same and I changed the lockset , ECU, New after market fusebox Inside lock Module with a key and it’s steering lock block then it started.

I’ve been having three different failures for some days and I would like to share them with you: 1- when starting the air conditioning, in some occasions it works, but others, it does not. Some days ago, I was driving normally when suddenly, the car stalled. When trying to start it back, the engine could be heard but the car did not start working. When checking it, I noticed that the coil did not have any voltage. However, no failure was indicated. A week ago, the oxygen sensor turned on but, when checking the ECU, the failure did not appear. The electician told me it must be the computer that is failing. Could anyone guide me please?

Check the positive terminal, which has got two wires: one that leads to the ECU and the other one to the starter. Also check in between the terminal, under a plastic lid, if the metal is broken and thus no electrical current is reaching the starter.
Revolutions failure

When starting my car, revolutions reach 2500 per minute and, when warm, they raise even to 4000 rpm, and so I turn the car off. I’ve already cleaned stepper motor and its pins as well as the automatic primer, but the failure remains. I would appreciate your help and comments. Thanks.

Hi, the first thing that tends to break down in this Renault cars is the airbag from the steering wheel, which cannot be repaired.

Hello, I also have a Megane II 2007 and, since I bought it, the two same indicators you mention turned on. The solution is to press the chip that is under the driver seat, which tends to get loose.

Windows cannot be raised Solved

At the beginning, the driver’s window could not be raised by pressing the button, only lowered. To be raised, it had to be done manually from the same door. However, now it is the passenger windows cannot be raised, and not even when doing it from the doors. I’ve tried disassembling the door but without any positive results. I think it must be either an electrical problem or a computer failure. Actually, the loudspeaker from the passenger seat does not work either. What might be the problem?

This happened to me and, when cleaning the contacts of the buttons from both sides properly, the windows started working again. One of your buttons must be failing too, and I recommend you to check the fuses just as well.

Coils wires position Solved

My Renault Megane was stolen and, two days later, it was rescued but the wires that feed the coils were cut, and I do not know which is their right position. There are two orange and two brown wires.

Buddy, do not worry. The pin number 32 from the computer activates the coils 1 and 3, and the pin number 1 activates coils 2 and 3. When changing the switch, there is a constant current signal that will be distributed to each of the coils, doesn’t matter the connector order bottom or top. This is because, as being a coil, its polarity does not matter. The wire that is in the pin number 1 of the computer goes to the other extreme of the connector from coil number 3, and a wire from that connector goes to the one on coil number 2. And the same with the wire that is in the pin number 32, you connect it to coil 4 and, from there, another wire to coil 1. Hope it helps.
